Product Care
Many of the items made at Studio Orobica are not easily replaceable. Please care for your jewellery to the best of your ability. Here are some general recommendations:
Best Practices
Avoid getting your jewellery wet if possible. Gold items can generally withstand moisture well, but all other materials withstand moisture to varying degrees.
Store non-gold jewellery in a dry airtight pouch or container to help postpone tarnishing and oxidation.
Keep your pieces separate from other jewellery or items that may scratch or damage it.
Be mindful of your jewellery when doing potentially damaging activities (such as rings during rock climbing).
Cleaning & Repair Services
Every now and then your jewellery may require professional cleaning or repair. Studio Orobica accepts repairs for most items even if they were not originally made here. Please contact us for a quote if you require these services.
Material Care
Gold - To clean your gold jewellery at home, add a few drops of dish detergent to warm water and let the item soak. Then, scrub gently with a soft-bristled brush (a spare toothbrush is perfect). Do not do this if your item has sensitive gemstones or pearls.
Sterling Silver - It is normal for sterling silver jewellery to tarnish over time, especially if it is sitting in open air and not worn often. To clean, use a silver polishing cloth or check online for at-home silver cleaning options. Email us if you would like a quote for professional cleaning and polishing. If your item has intentionally oxidized (blackened) parts, we recommend professional cleaning to ensure finishing treatments are maintained.
Gemstones & Pearls - Every gem has its own unique properties and may require special care when cleaning. Pearls are especially sensitive and can even be damaged by exposure to perfume or household cleaning products. Research the gemstone you have before cleaning at home, or reach out to us if you are unsure.
